Women in Leadership
Erin Judge - Oranga Tamariki-Ministry for Children, spoke at our Women in Leadership event which took place on 24 February 2020.
Erin (Ngāti Tūwharetoa) became the first person in her family to attend university and the youngest person in Zealand (at the time) to be admitted to the bar. Now, Erin leads a team of 105 lawyers and legal assistants as Kaihautū Ture – Chief Legal Officer. Erin previously worked at Crown Law, NZ Police and the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office.
In her role at Oranga Tamariki, Erin is committed to using her life experience and strong conscience to help create a world that is safer, fairer and kinder for the tamariki of Aotearoa.
She spoke of the importance of being authentic and asking the hard questions in hard situations and the need for everyone to take active responsibility for helping others and putting right the problems/wrongs that we encounter so as to become a player and not a victim.
Our Next Event:
Women in Leadership events provide an opportunity to network (while enjoying good food and drink), share stories, and give and receive help and support. We enjoy speakers from diverse backgrounds who inspire and encourage their audience with their experience of leadership.
